ADVANCED SLIP DECORATION WITH KYM OWENS

6/29/2024     (10a-5p) 6/29 WORKSHOP IS FULL

2nd Date Added! 6/30/2024 (10a-5p)

Learn how to enhance your pottery by applying multiple decorating techniques using slip.

Ceramic artist, Kym Owens, is a maker of fancy porcelain pottery. Her work is highly decorative, involving multiple layers of intricate surface slip designs.

Kym will demonstrate how to decorate your pots by showing you all the fascinating ways of slip application.  Create one-of-a-kind designs with a tactile feel using just slip.

Some of the things you will learn in this workshop are how to make your own slip using recycled clay, how to make colored slip using mason stains, and how to use a slip trailer including an automatic slip trailer called an Airpen.

One small cup and one small plate will be provided to each student to perform the hands-on techniques being learned during the workshop.

Group will break for 1 hour lunch.
